FACILITIES

The College is set on a private and safe 10-hectare elevated site, nestled in the natural Australian bushland with a view towards Burleigh Heads and the Pacific Ocean. The natural beauty and peaceful surrounds enhance the College’s ability to deliver a quality and well-rounded education. Hillcrest Christian College is openly accessible to the main interstate motorway serving Brisbane and Sydney and to the thriving, bustling Gold Coast City.

Hillcrest first occupied this site in 1989.  Since that time, it has continued to develop, offering a wide variety of facilities that cater to the various needs of students in Early Years, Middle Years and Senior Years.

The facilities available on the site cater for all the specialty subject areas of the mainstream curriculum and extra-curricular activities:

  • A Resource Centre: including a book library, tutorial rooms and offices, and an extensive network of computers to support learning and facilitate electronic research via the Internet.
  • Specialty Rooms: Science laboratories, Art rooms, Home Economics kitchen, Textiles room, Film & TV, Music, Dance, Drama, fully equipped Performance Theatre, Physical education training facility, indoor sports gymnasium and basketball courts, Hospitality commercial kitchen, Technical (wood and metal) workshop.
  • In addition, the sporting program is served by 2 external playing fields, including an athletics training facility, tennis/netball and external basketball courts.
  • The College also operates its own Canteen and Uniform Shop.

The International Student Department is a purpose built facility consisting of two learning areas;  a classroom for ESL students, a meeting/study area, a kitchenette for students to heat food and three offices for International Staff.  It is housed central to the College.

All of these facilities are available to International Students enrolled at Hillcrest, depending upon their interest and the chosen subjects.
